Overview
Under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the Livestock Card Scheme has been launched to empower Livestock farmers, by providing interest-free loans to promote livestock prosperity. Farmers can purchase Wanda, Silage, and mineral mixtures for calf fattening by utilizing the interest free credit facility. This initiative aims to improve the livelihoods of farmers and provide necessary financial resources to farmers, enabling them to provide balanced ration/feed to their animals for fattening purposes.
The end-to-end application process is digitized through state-of-the-art technology and through robust applicant verification process. PITB has developed end to end digitized system for CM Punjab Livestock Card. Key outcomes include enhanced accessibility for farmers, reduced processing times, and improved service delivery. The initiative demonstrates effective governance and technological innovation, ensuring financial support and sustainability for Punjab’s livestock sector.
Key Benefits
Farmers can avail interest free loans, easing financial burdens and encouraging livestock farming
Farmers can receive loans ranging from PKR 135,000 to PKR 270,000.
The loan is provided for a period of 4 months, with an additional 1-month grace period for repayment.
Target Beneficiaries
40,000 to 80,000 farmers will be issued Livestock card
- 1st year – 10,000 to 20,000 farmers & 100,000 animals
- 2nd year – 30, 000 to 60,000 farmers & 300,000 animals
How to Apply
- Farmers can apply by sending an SMS with their CNIC to 8070 (PLC <space> <CNIC>)
- Application Period: November 05, 2024 – December 11, 2024
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be the resident of Punjab.
- Applicants phone number must be active and registered under its CNIC.
- Applicant should be registered in the SPMS-9211 system.
- Applicants must have 5 to 10 male calves/young stock (Buffalo /Cattle)
- Applicants should have a clean credit history and no prior defaults or disqualifications under government loan schemes.
The scheme is being rolled out on a first-come, first-serve basis.
