Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has initiated a transformative electrco buses project in Punjab, aiming to modernize public transportation and promote environmental sustainability. This project reflects Punjab's commitment to sustainable development and improved public services. The phased implementation strategy ensures that infrastructure and services are adequately prepared to meet the needs of the population.

Details of Project
- Total Buses Planned: 1,500 electric buses are slated for deployment across various cities in Punjab.
Key Features of the Electric Buses
- Capacity: Each bus can accommodate up to 80 passengers, offering 30 seats.
- Amenities: Buses are equipped with GPS tracking, Wi-Fi, USB charging ports, anti-slip flooring, surveillance cameras for safety, and ramps to assist passengers with disabilities.
- Infrastructure: Dedicated electric bus stops are being developed, featuring water coolers, fans, and mini canteens to enhance passenger comfort.
Fare Structure
- Subsidized Fare: A flat rate of Rs. 20 per ride is set for the general public.
- Free Travel: Senior citizens, students, and differently-abled individuals can avail free rides on electric buses.
