Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin has said that sale of substandard food is a heinous crime and government will not allow anyone to play with human lives. He said that sale of edible items to the citizens according to hygienic principles is a step for setting up of a healthy society.
He said this while talking to various delegations of business community at his office, today. He said that sale of edibles items free from adulteration are not only useful for human life but also help increased the business of quality food items. The Provincial Minister said that the sale of quality food items will increase and unemployment will be eliminated from the society.
Bilal Yasin said that Punjab Food Authority is striving round the clock for implementation of laws and no interference will be tolerated in this regard. He said that strict action has been taken against those involved in adulteration. He said that elements involved in the sale of dead and substandard eatables will be dealt with an iron hand.
The Provincial Minister said that not only heavy fine will be imposed but deterrent punishment will also be awarded to the persons involved in the sale of substandard edible items. He said that it is the vision of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to root out adulteration from the society and activities of Punjab Food Authority will continue till complete elimination of substandard and adulterated food items.
