Artists Are Keeping The Culture & Traditions Of Punjab Alive: Zakia Shahnawaz

Provincial Minister for Population Welfare, Zakia Shahnawaz has said that the artists, keeping the culture and traditions of Punjab alive, through music are our precious asset. She said that Punjab government fully encourages the people associated with music and highly values their services.

 She expressed these views while addressing the participants of a function on the topic “Pride of Punjab” at Punjab Institute of Language and Culture, today. A large number of singers, artists and people associated with art and culture attended the ceremony. Zakia Shahnawaz gave a cheque for one lakh rupees to a prominent musician of Punjabi and Siraiki languages Allah Ditta Lonaywala in recognition to his services. She said that Punjabi and Siraiki are the languages of our sufi saints. She said that the singers are rendering the service of conveying the poetry and universal message in these languages in the shape of singing to the people.
