Govt Endeavoring to Ensure Polio Free Society: Salman Rafique

Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Eradication of Polio Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq and Advisor on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique have said that government is making efforts for the constitution of healthy society free from polio and Pakistan will achieve the goal of eradication of polio through collective efforts in the near future. They said that vaccinators are playing vanguard role in anti-polio campaigns. They said that efforts are being made for providing best treatment facilities and elimination of polio under Chief Minister’s Roadmap. The day is not far off when the ‘jashan’ of complete elimination of polio will be celebrated in Pakistan, they added.
                   
They expressed these views while addressing the vaccinators’ convention at Rawalpindi Art Council. Kh. Waseem, former Governor Rotary Club of Pakistan Haji Iftikhar Ahmed, Member Rotary Club Nausherwan Khan, DCO Rawalpindi Sajid Zafar Dal, EDO Health Rawalpindi Dr. Nasir Mehmood, DHO Dr. Muhammad Rafique as well as officials of Health Department and a large number of polio workers were present on the occasion. Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq said that government is committed to protect every child from disability and a coordinated system has been evolved for implementation of polio programme and its monitoring at federal and provincial level.
                   
Kh. Salman Rafique said that vaccinators are making efforts for elimination of polio by facing every difficult situation and their sacrifices are commendable. He said that struggle is continuing on emergent basis for controlling polio and dengue and the cooperation of all stake-holders is laudable for accomplishment of this mission. DCO Rawalpindi Sajid Zafar Dal said that comprehensive steps are being taken for complete elimination of polio in Rawalpindi and anti-polio campaigns are being forwarded successfully for this purpose. Later, Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq and Kh. Salman Rafique gave away commendatory certificates to all UCMOs and vaccinators.
