Provincial minister for Agriculture Dr. Farrukh Javed has said that government is planning to give a historical subsidy to consumers in coming Ramzan. The minister asked the market committee representatives to ensure the availability of best quality food items in Sunday Bazars. Â He said that we are receiving some complaints regarding hoarders who are trying to create artificial shortage in the markets. The minister warned the hoarders to bring their commodities in the markets otherwise law will take its course and hoarders will be brought to book.
The minister expressed these views while talking to the representatives of the media after visiting Shadman Sunday Bazar here today. Dr. Farrukh Javed said that the government is committed to provide all possible relief to the masses. He said that people are satisfied with the prices of food items in Sunday Bazars but commodities’ quality needs to be improved. He said that it is due to the untiring efforts of the Chief Minister Punjab that people are getting oil & ghee on discounted prices. He said that we are planning to give historical relief to masses in terms of subsidy on food items in coming Ramzan. He said that special efforts are being made to reduce the prices of floor, oil, pulses and sugar in Ramzan.
Earlier the minister visited the Sunday Bazar and checked the quality and prices of food items. He talked to the customers and inquired them about their problems. He assured the masses that government will leave no stone unturned to provide them the best possible relief.
