Setting up of complaint desks and appointment of focal persons of Overseas Commission Punjab at all foreign offices/embassies of Pakistan will soon be completed and Overseas Commission Punjab will hold a road show in Middle East during the current month. This decision was taken on the directions of Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatimi and Punjab Chief Minister during a meeting with a delegation headed by Commissioner Overseas Commission Punjab Afzaal Bhatti. Vice Chairman Overseas Commission Punjab Capt. (R) Khalid Shaheen Butt, Foreign Secretary Azaz Ahmed Chaudhry, DG Foreign Affairs, DG Overseas Commission Kh. Daud and senior officers of foreign ministry were present on the occasion. DG Overseas Commission Punjab gave a detailed briefing during the meeting.
Afzaal Bhatti said that in order to further activate the commission, complaint desks of Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab should be set up at all foreign offices and focal persons of Overseas Commission Punjab be deputed in all embassies so that complaints of overseas Pakistanis could directly be sent to Overseas Commission Punjab for action without any delay. He told that Overseas Commission Punjab is launching awareness programme for overseas Pakistanis regarding the commission under which, road shows would be held with the cooperation of embassies in majority Pakistani community areas. He said that these road shows will be held at Middle East, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar during the current month. He said that business community along with overseas Pakistanis belonging to various walks of life will participate in these road shows. Tariq Fatimi assured complete cooperation to Commissioner Overseas Commission Punjab Afzaal Bhatti and Vice Chairman Overseas Commission Punjab Khalid Shaheen Butt on behalf of foreign ministry and said that the process of setting up of complaint desks and appointment of focal persons at all embassies of Pakistan will soon be completed. He said that foreign ministry has issued instructions to all embassies of Pakistan in this regard and all foreign offices and embassies will extend complete cooperation in the road shows being held by Overseas Commission Punjab.
