International Training Of Rescue 1122 On Orange Metro Line

Upon directions of the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, a six-member delegation from operational team of Rescue 1122 Lahore have been sent to United Kingdom for Emergency & Disaster Management training to deal day to day emergencies related to Orange Metro Line in an effective manner. This training has been organized by Mr. Hanzala Malik Member Scottish Parliament in continuation of MoU between Lahore City and Glasgow as twin cities and MoU between Strathclyde Fire Service.
 
The Director General Brig (R) Dr. Arshad Zia briefed all officers in daily review meeting that a Six members’ delegation has been selected from operational staff of Rescue 1122 Lahore based on their previous performance and contribution in the Service. The delegation comprising of Mr Shahid Waheed Qammer Emergency Officer, Muhammad Azam Rescue & Safety Officer, Naeem-Ur-Rehman Emergency Medical Technician, Amjad Khan Fire Rescuer and Muhammad Jhangir DERT Rescuer shall be headed by Dr. Ahmad Raza (Tamgha-i-Imtiaz), District Emergency Officer Lahore to proceed Scottish Fire Service, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom for 10 days academic and practical simulation based training of metro train accidents and disasters.
 
Brig. (R) Dr. Arshad Zia DG Rescue 1122 further briefed that rescue delegation Pakistan shall get training on underground structure and tunnels, incident command considerations, hazard risk vulnerability assessment, specialized equipment, major incident planning, underground stations visits, road traffic crashes management, contingency planning, strategic planning control rooms and paramedical cycle program followed by field visit to Scottish Public Transport System and Scottish Ambulance Service.
 
DG Rescue Punjab said we are really thankful to Chief Minister Punjab for providing all out support to enhance operational capacity of Rescue 1122 with close coordination and support of Mr. Hanzala Malik, Member Scottish Parliament, he added.
