Arrangements Start For Independence Day Ceremonies Throughout Punjab

On special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, preparations have been started for observing Independence Day celebrations throughout the province in a befitting manner. Final shape has been given to the programme of Jashn-e-Azadi celebrations in private and public educational institutions including arts councils, education, agriculture, health and social welfare departments. Sweets and special food will be provided to jail prisoners in the functions. Special food has been arranged for the children of Darul Itfal and women residing in Dar ul Amaan. Livestock department will arrange exhibition of cattle of different species. Sports department will arrange different competitions including hockey, volleyball, gymnastic, football and kabaddi. Qirat, Naat Khawani, Urdu & English speeches, discussions, national songs, quiz programmes, tableaus and seminars would be held in private and public schools. Jashn-e-Azadi ceremonies have been formally started with Salam Pakistan Percham Rally under the aegis of Rawalpindi Arts Council which continued up to Murree Road and was attended by women, children, students, artists, intellectuals and people belonging to various walks of life. DCO Dera Ghazi Khan Iqbal Mazher presided over a meeting held to review the arrangements of Jahsn-e-Azadi informed that Dera Ghazi Khan will be decorated with national flags, colourful buntings and decorated lights. Assistant Director Asadullah Shehzad told that central ceremony of Independence Day will be observed in DG Khan Arts Council.  Different functions are being arranged for creating awareness among the people about national solidarity and paying tributes to the personalities who rendered prominent services in Pakistan Movement under Jashn-e-Azadi ceremonies in different cities of the province including Layyah.
