Potable Water Is Basic Right Of Citizens: Shehbaz Sharif

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting, here today, to review various matters Saaf Pani Programme. The meeting decided to set up separate Saaf Pani Companies for south and north Punjab under “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme”. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Saaf Pani project is of basic importance for healthy life. He said that citizens will be provided clean drinking water at a cost of billions of rupees under “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme” and high standard of this programme will be ensured. He said that with the establishment of separate Saaf Pani Companies in north and south Punjab, “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme” will be implemented effectively and speedily besides timely utilization of resources of billions of rupees will be ensured which will help provide continuous supply of clean drinking water to the citizens. He said that access to clean drinking water is right of the people and no effort be spared for this purpose. Provincial Minister Tanvir Aslam Malik, Chairman Saaf Pani Company Muhammad Kashif Padhiyar MPA, Chairman Taskforce for Information & Culture Muhammad Maalik, Chief Executive Officer Saaf Pani Company and concerned authorities attended the meeting.
