Educational System And Skill Of Sri Lanka Would Be Utilized To Achieve Better Literacy Rate

Provincial Minster for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that expertise of friendly countries in education sector would be benefitted. He said that educational system and skill of Sri Lanka would be utilized to achieve better literacy rate. He said that improvement in education sector can be made with the educational system of friendly country Sri Lanka especially teachers training programme.

He was addressing the meeting of special cabinet committee regarding the Punjab CM, Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Sri Lanka. He stressed that Sri Lankan Teachers’ training program will have to be adopted for the capacity-building of teachers. He further said that effective steps will be taken for increasing the enrolment in public schools of Punjab by adopting the education system of friendly country as role model. The convener of the committee Additional Chief Secretary Shamail Ahmad Khawaja while describing in detail the growth strategy of provincial government on this occasion, stressed upon the need to find out prospects of mutual cooperation with Sri Lanka particularly in the field of teachers training strategy, wildlife protection, tourism development and healthcare facilities in the far-flung areas of Punjab. Advisor to Chief Minister of health Khawaja Salman Rafique, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Ali Jan, Secretary I&C Farasat Iqbal, Additional Secretary Schools Education Imran Sikandar Baloch, Additional Secretary Higher Education Salman Yousaf, Additional Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Dr. Salman Shahid, Additional Secretary Information Shahid Iqbal and senior officers of Punjab Board of Investment & Trade, Punjab Population Welfare Department, Punjab Wildlife Department, Housing & Urban Development, Agriculture, Forests, Tourism, Sports and Youth Affairs participated in the meeting.
