Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif formally inaugurated Dealer Vehicles Registration System (DVRS) at Model Town today. The Chief Minister inaugurated DVRS in five big cities of the province in the first phase by pressing a key of computer while this programme will be extended throughout Punjab till December. Addressing inaugural ceremony, the Chief Minister said that due to this new system of registration, the heinous system of fake dealers will eliminate and the real dealers will become prominent. He said that all legal and administrative institutions will benefit from this new system. He said that Pakistan is bravely coping with terrorism and extremism. Pak army, police, security agencies and people are jointly fighting against this menace, he added. Shehbaz Sharif said that terrorism has been eliminated due to operation Zarb-e-Azab while the new system of vehicle registration will also result in elimination of terrorism as fake number plates are going to end through this system. He said that noose is being tightened around those destroying the peace through bogus and illegal number plates. He said that this system is a great gift for all the departments and is a milestone in the elimination of enemies of peace and criminals. The Chief Minister said that Punjab government has taken another revolutionary step by launching modern system of dealer vehicles registration, which will eliminate fake dealers and illegal and bogus number plates. He said that fake dealers were depriving the country of resources of billion of rupees. He said that due to this system fake dealers will become a part of history who were usurping billion of rupees of the nation and this new system will result in elimination of corruption. Shehbaz Sharif said that he has always been saying that we are ready to share services with other provinces with regard to such programmes and offered cooperation to Chief Ministers of other provinces regarding unique steps of Punjab government. He said that this new system of vehicle registration will become a important part of National Action Plan and will be further improved in coming days. He said that dealers should come forward for the success of the programme and play their effective role for checking the heinous business of forgers. He said that forgers will be arrested, locked up in jails and awarded punishments as legislation has also been made in this regard. Programme of certification of vehicles has been launched from Sheikhupura with the cooperation of Sweden, he added. He said that the scope of this programme will soon be expanded to entire province. He said that this system of checking of vehicles will be enforced throughout the province by December this year. He said that obsolete system of issuing fitness certificate and driving license by taking bribe will be eliminated. Under this system, workshops will be set up throughout the province from where fitness certificates of the vehicles will be issued, he added. The Chief Minister said that accidents will reduce due to this system. He said that launching of programme of issuing fitness certificates of vehicles and driving license will eliminate fake driving licenses. He said that death of patients due to non-availability of medicines in hospitals is same as deaths due to accidents resulting from fake driving licenses. He said that this programme is an excellent programme of Punjab government for checking such deaths. Shehbaz Sharif said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has set a high example by presenting himself before Supreme Court in Panama Leaks case. He said that those threatening lockdown of Islamabad should tell is there any other legal forum besides Supreme Court of Pakistan. He said that forum of Supreme Court will have to be accepted for rule of law, sanctity of court and progress and prosperity of Pakistan, otherwise there will be no law or court and matters will be decided on streets. He said God forbid there is threat of damage to Pakistan due to negative attitude of protesters. There is no justification for lockdown of Islamabad or protest while the matter is subjudice. Prime Minister has taken a bold decision by presenting himself in the court and there is no such example in 70 years’ history of the country. PTI neither accepts any commission nor any court but insists on protest, he added. He said that PTI did not allow constitution of commission nor ToRs for investigation of this matter. He said that PTI’s threat to lockdown Islamabad by rejecting commission and forum of Supreme Court is conspiracy to lockdown Pakistan as this party does not want progress and prosperity of people of Pakistan. This party wants to stop CPEC so that there should be no light in the country and Pakistan do not make progress, he added. He said such elements should know that the nation will support the decision of Prime Minister and enemies of the development of the country will fail and Pakistan will move ahead. He said that the nation has come to know about the conspiracy behind lockdown of Islamabad by PTI. He said that these elements do not want promotion of CPEC and are trying to ruin the development of Pakistan. The Chief Minister said that PTI filed an application in Supreme Court with regard to Panama Leaks and Registrar Supreme Court returned the application with objections. Now Chief Justice has referred the case to bench to decide whether the case can be heard. Prime Minister has taken a bold decision by accepting the forum of Supreme Court. He said that earlier PTI did not allow constitution of commission and created hurdles in this way. He said that government presented a bill in the assembly in the light of the decision of the Supreme Court. He said that before the discussion whether the petition could be heard the lawyers asked Prime Minister to fight this case in the court. Prime Minister asked the lawyers that he did not want to take help of legal and technical points as he was satisfied and would fight the case. In spite of this, the protest politics of those threatening lockdown of Islamabad is not understandable. PTI expressed confidence in judicial commission set up under the chairmanship of Chief Justice regarding elections but when judicial commission presented its report regarding 2013 elections it refused to accept this report which reflects undemocratic and negative attitude. PTI does not want progress of Pakistan and removal of darkness. PTI should quit this negative attitude and play its role in national construction and development, he added. The Chief Minister congratulated Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, senior members of Special Monitoring Unit Salman Sufi, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, Secretary Excise and entire team on launching of modern system of registration of vehicles. He distributed commendatory certificates among officers and staff of Excise and Taxation Department, Punjab Information and Technology Board and Special Monitoring Unit on launching of this new system of DVRS.
