The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has decided to hold third part validation of phase one of Public School Support Program (PSSP). The purpose of this initiative is to examine the performance and overall institutional transparency.
Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation Tariq Mahmood said this while presiding over weekly coordination meeting at his office on Wednesday. Deputy Managing Directors, Program Directors and different officials attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed the organizational performance in detail. It was observed that PEF has been very successful in reaching-out to the low-income segments in different districts. It was quite difficult for the impecunious strata to arrange free quality education for their children because of lack of resources. But the foundation has designed and launched different public private partnership based educational programs so that the needy students could continue their education without any difficulty. This is a great achievement against illiteracy and it is commendable that the girls have been equal beneficiary of PEF sponsored interventions.
While underscoring the increasing importance of information and communication technologies for improving organizational output, MD PEF said that the official website is very important for dissemination of different sorts of information to the public. It also helps in keeping the school partners fully informed about the policies and program related information. It is, therefore, all the more important that this website should be kept fully up-to-date. Similarly, partner schools’ record should also be well maintained to improve service delivery.
The meeting maintained that the foundation has made its mark as the quality service provider in the field of school education. It recommended that besides acquiring building fitness certificates from the school partners, the standard of different educational facilities should also be examined, so that the teachers and students could enjoy congenial, safe and secure atmosphere for education.
