Decision Taken In Principle To Send Recommendations To Set Up Journalist Colonies At Divisional Level

Recommendations will be sent for setting up journalist colonies at divisional level in Punjab. It was decided in principle at a meeting of Board of Directors of Punjab Journalist Housing Foundation held under the chairmanship of Spokesman Punjab Government Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, MPA. Member Provincial Assembly Uzma Bukhari, Secretary Information & Culture Jahangir Anwar Raja, officers concerned as well as other members were present. The meeting also discussed matters relating to Lahore Press Club and problems of journalists. Board of Directors decided to hold a detailed meeting with the Board of Revenue. A special committee was formed for evolving a policy for allotment of plots as well as dealing with the matters relating to F-Block. Board of Directors also gave approval to formal transfer of plots of Journalist Housing Society. A special committee was also set up for establishing market, dispensary and school in the colony. Spokesman Punjab government Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, a solid policy is being implemented for the solution of residential and other problems of journalists. Earlier, a committee headed by Zaeem Hussain Qadri was constituted to deal with the matters pertaining to B-Block of Journalists Housing Colony.
