Punjab Government And Health Ministry Of Turkey Signs Agreement Of Cooperation For Improvement Of Healthcare System

Ceremony of signing agreement of cooperation between Punjab government and Turk Health Ministry for improving healthcare system was held at Royal Fort Lahore, here today. Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Members of Turk delegation and senior officials of Punjab government were present on the occasion. Ambassador of Turkey in Pakistan Mustafa Baber Girgin and Secretary Health Najam Shah on behalf of Punjab government signed the agreement. According to the agreement, Turk Ministry of Health will provide technical assistance for setting Punjab health sector on modern lines. It will also provide technical and other necessary assistance for the establishment of Punjab Health Agency. Turk Health Ministry will work with Punjab government in connection with checking viral diseases and creation of awareness among the people. It will also cooperate in reorganization of Drug Testing Lab Multan. Health Ministry of Turkey will be partner of Punjab government in reconstitution of system of supply of medicines. Turk Health Ministry will also extend cooperation for designing of command control and monitoring center and implementation of the programme for emergency medical services. Under the agreement, nurses will be trained in Turkey and Turk Ministry of Health will cooperate in training of other medical staff. Turk Health Ministry will also provide cooperation in outsourcing management and non-core services of four hospitals. Turk Health Ministry and Punjab government will cooperate in promotion of medical research. Turk Health Ministry will also assist in introducing Health Management Information System and help in establishment of Public Health Hospital Agency. Under the agreement, there will be collaboration between Punjab Kidney & Liver Transplant Institution and Malatya University of Turkey. Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that provision of quality health facilities to the people is our top priority. He welcomed cooperation of Turkey in improvement of healthcare system. He said that agreement of cooperation between Punjab government and Health Ministry of Turkey for improvement of healthcare system augers well. Healthcare system of Punjab will be improved by benefiting from the expertise and experiences of Turkey, he added.
