CS Orders Stepping Up Crackdown On Spurious Drugs

Chief Secretary Punjab Capt (R) Zahid Saeed has directed that the ongoing crackdown on spurious drugs be continued in a vigorous manner. He said that all available resources are being provided for improving health sector. He ordered that provision of best medical facilities, availability of medicines, missing facilities and cleanliness be ensured in all the district headquarter (DHQ) and tehsil headquarter (THQ) hospitals in the province, saying that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard. He directed the district coordination officers (DCOs) to personally visit hospitals to review public service delivery.

He was presiding over a meeting of DCOs that continued for more than five hours at Civil Secretariat here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary said that like cities provision of best medical facilities for people of rural areas is the top priority of the government. He added that attractive salary package and other benefits are being given to the doctors serving in far-flung areas so that they could work with more dedication and commitment. He warned that no negligence and laxity would be tolerated in provision of medical facilities to people. 

He ordered that on the eve of 12th Rabiul Awal foolproof security arrangements be ensured in the province and special measures be taken for security of parks, mosques and other public places. The Chief Secretary said that he would personally review the Land Record Management Information System (LRMIS) and Citizen Feedback Model on monthly basis and corruption in revenue matters and issuance of domicile would not be tolerated. He said that Pakistani expatriates are asset for the country, their problems should be resolved on priority. He also directed that cases of Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab pending in different districts be disposed of at the earliest. The Home Secretary briefed the meeting about law and order situation and issued necessary directions regarding security measures. The meeting was attended by Senior Member Board of Revenue, secretaries of different departments including Local Government and Community Development, Health, Planning and Development and other relevant officers.
