A spokesman of Punjab Health Department has said that the department has purchased medicine for hepatitis-C patients at the rate of 54.35 rupees with four conditions, serialization of each pack, separate packing of one month medicine course for the patient, courier services and so much so lab testing of the medicine from international drug testing laboratory. The spokesman said that all the expenditure incurred upon the pharmaceutical company and the department will not bear these expenditures. The spokesman further said that in the light of the fact mentioned here it is very clear that Punjab Health Department has not procured the medicines on a high price and the impression given in the press is contrary to the facts.
