On the special approval of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the financial assistance cheques of Rs. 3.970 million have been distributed among the 794 deserving persons belonging to the Christian community including widows, orphans, disabled and ailing persons. Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sindhu distributed these cheques during a function held here at Deputy Commissioner Office Committee room. Expressing his views, the Minister said that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Punjab was following wide welfare policies for the welfare and betterment of the deserving people and financial assistance was being provided to them without any discrimination of religion and creed for providing them financial relief. He said that Punjab govt. believed on merit in every sector and the applications of the deserving people had been scrutinized purely on merit basis so that no deserving persons could be deprived from their right. He consoled the recipients of the financial assistance and said that Punjab govt. would not leave them alone and all out resources would be utilized for their financial relief. The Minister thanked the Chief Minister Punjab for providing huge funds for the financial assistance of deserving persons of Christian community and said that welfare mission would continue in future as well. Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani informed that financial assistance to the deserving persons of Christian community was being provided under specified procedure and merit. He said that financial assistance of Rs. 5000/- was being provided to each deserving applicant. He said that Christian citizens had equal rights on the country’s resources as Pakistani nation and comprehensive measures were being taken for safeguarding their rights and economic rehabilitation. The recipients of the financial assistance appreciated the welfare policies of the Punjab govt. and thanked the CM Punjab for providing financial assistance to them which would help in decreasing their financial constraints.
