Punjab Has Left Behind All Other Units In Education Sector: Educational Statistics Report 2015-16

Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high level meeting, where Sectary schools briefed about educational statistics of Pakistan 2015-16 issued by Academy of Educational Planning and Management. As indicated in the statistics, Punjab has taken lead in education sector over all other units of Pakistan. CM Punjab while praising the entire group for magnificent execution in the field of education said that Punjab government has guaranteed provision of unavailable facilities in the schools with billions of rupees which had driven into noteworthy laud in enrolment by diminishing drop-out rates.He said the kids out of school ought to be centred more so as to acquire them schools and supported endeavours in such manner with coherence are required.CM said that Punjab has opted merit policy at each level. To boot out the lack of educators in schools,2 million talented teachers are recruitedover the past 8 years likewisework onconstruction of additional classrooms in schools is pushing ahead rapidly alsowalls in all schools of the provincewill be completedby March 2018, he shared. CM added that program has been devised to lit up the schools via solar panels that were without electricity before, as 20 thousand schools to be provided electricity under “Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala Program” also tablets to be provided in all schools of province.

He said that 83 thousand children were liberated from child labor at brick kilns and were brought to school by providing them with stationary and escaping them from mud and dirt and today these children are not only getting their education but also monthly stipend from Punjab government. While directing to ensure hundred percent implementation of the decisions taken to promote education, CM said that survey results are encouraging nevertheless it will be put to third-party audit. The meeting also approved several proposals to increase enrollment in schools. Provisional Minister Schools Education Mashood Ahmad Khan, Minister Finance Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, advisor Dr. Umar Saif, special assistant Malik Mohammad Ahmed Khan, Chairman Punjab Education Foundation MPA Engineer Qamar Islam Raja, Additional Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning& Development, Vice Chairman Punjab Educational Endowment Fund, educational experts and other concerned authorities attended the meeting.
