An exhibition of Turkish pharmaceutical and biomedical industries products is likely to be held at Lahore Expo Center in September. Pak-Turk Medical exhibition would go a long way to strengthen the collaboration of both the countries in health sector. Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif would be invited for the inauguration. It was announced during a meeting of Minister Specialized Healthcare Khawaja Salman Rafique and Minister Primary & Secondary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir with the delegation of Turkish consultants and representatives of pharmaceutical industry, here today. Besides Special Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Dr. Faisal Zahoor, Director Policy & Strategic Planning Unit Muhammad Khan Ranjha, Additional Secretary Drug Wing Muhammad Sohail, Director Pharmacy Azhar Saleemi, Deputy Secretary Primary Health Dr. Yadullah, Deputy Secretary Medical Education Dr. Zahid and other concerned officers of the department were present in the meeting. Headed by Dr. Hassan Cagil the Turkish delegation was consisting on Dr. Memet, Dr. Ahmet Altiner, Dr. Selahttin Sahin, Fatih Karademir and Dr. Orkun Yildrim. Turkish delegation was of the view that the Pak-Turk Medica exhibition would introduce modern technologies in the local health system in Punjab. Dr. Hassan Cagil and other members of the delegation informed that Turkish pharmaceutical, biomedical equipment manufacturing companies as well as medical cosmetics firms would participate in this exhibition. Kh. Salman Rafique revealed that local pharmaceutical companies would also be invited on this occasion. It would not only enhance the business and trade activities between two countries but also will helpful to promote medical tourism. Minister Primary & Secondary Health Kh. Imran Nazir said that Turkish Ministry of Health is also extending cooperation with the Health Department Punjab in drug testing field. He disclosed that 119 drug samples have been sent for testing to Turkey. He disclosed that Turkish DTL would conduct 300 tests of Pakistan medicines. Kh. Imran Nazir further said that the exhibition would be the first of its kind activity in Lahore and medical professionals would also attend the event. Workshops and conferences would also be on the agenda of this exhibition. The Health Ministers said that the officers of both Specialized Healthcare as well as Primary Healthcare would prepare a way forward for the arrangements of the Expo Pak-Turk Medical and these officers would finalize all the modalities and arrangements of the exhibition with the Turkish consultants.
