Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja today visited New Welfare Building, Civil Secretariat Lahore to review the arrangments of 3-day Health Screening Camp for government officials. The ACS witnessed different diagnostic stalls in the camp. Hundreds of government employees were being facilitated in the health screening camp. Shamail Ahmad Khawaja enquired about the health and well being of government officials present in the camp and met the medical contingent busy in providing the healthcare screening facilities which included eight medical officers, two women medical officers and their allied paramedics. Special Secretary Primary & Secondary Healthcare Punjab Dr. Faisal Zahoor apprised of the ACS Punjab about the nature of diagnostic facilities and treatment provided in the camp. He informed that the most sensitive apparatus and most modern gadgets are being used in the health screening camp to diagnose tuberculosis, hepatitis B&C, diabetes mellitus, asthma, hyper-tension and morbid obesity are especially focused. The TB patients are being diagnosed through florescent microscopy after taking their sputum specimen and the facility for x-ray chest has also been provided to the government officials at the health screening camp besides diagnosing hepatitis B&C through chromatography technique as well as through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test. The facility to administer hepatitis-B vaccine has also been made available in the health screening camp at Civil Secretariat Lahore. The Screening Camp will continue its diagnostic work on Thursday 14th of September, the Special Secretary Health added.
