World Bank Commended Land Record Computerization Project of Punjab Govt.

In its report issued on the Twitter, World Bank has commended the Land Record Computerization Project of the Punjab government and termed it as worth following initiative for other countries. The World Bank has released a special report about Land Record Computerization Project of the Punjab government at its social media Twitter account in which it has been stated that the land record of more than 5.5 crore land owners in villages has been computerized in a short span of five years in Punjab province of Pakistan. This matter is worth following and a commendable example for rest of the countries of the world.

It has been stated in the Twitter report of World Bank Asia that so far land record of 30 percent owners has been digitalized across the globe but the computerization of record of all the rural lands in the Punjab is a remarkable achievement. Punjab has emerged as a role model with regard to land record computerization.

Director Land and Water Division of Food Agriculture Organization of the UN, Mr. Eduargo Mansur has said that land record computerization is a durable process for sustained development. He termed the Punjab Land Record Computerization Project as an important milestone towards achieving the targets of sustainable development goals 2030. According to the Twitter report, before the launch of land record computerization, one has to wait for many weeks to get the ownership deed. But due to the land record computerization, now the ownership deed can be got in just 50 minutes.

In response to the Twitter report, a number of twitter account holders have termed the Land Record Computerization Project as the conspicuous phenomenon of the innovative vision of the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and have also appreciated the efforts of the Punjab government.
