Principal PGMI & Amir ud Din Medical College Prof. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab has called upon the doctors community to use all available resources to create awareness among patients regarding dengue. He said that the Punjab Government was confronting this issue on war footing basis and this disease has been controlled up to the maximum. In this regard, as many as 4.5 lac people have been benefitted from the website of (LGH) General Hospital which has been launched to create awareness among masses on dengue issue. This website www.lgh.org.pk and face book page www.facebook.com/lghlahore being liked by more and more people to get information on dengue. Prof. Dr. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab said that this website plays an important role to prevent people from dengue especially in changing weather and helps more since it is in urdu language and more understandable for the people. Prof. Dr. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab told that training of doctors was also being carried out on dengue while lectures have also been scheduled for new doctors and Para medical staff as a regular feature. He said that on these pages of website and face book other diseases were also being added and special pages would be made for viral and other diseases so that citizens can take information while sitting at home rather than visiting hospital. Principal PGMI said that this step is helpful at national as well as international level. He called upon that every person has to play its role in controlling dengue and other diseases and web page and face book can be beneficial in this regard. Prof. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab said that every person of General Hospital performing role in war against dengue and as per directions of Punjab Government and Health Department strict compliance was being made to ensure proper cleanliness in and outside of wards. He said that all patients and their attendants were being kept informed on dengue precautions. He said that proper record has been maintained by General Hospital of all the dengue patients and contact is also made with the concerned patients as and when required. Prof. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab stressed upon the common citizens to ensure hygienic atmosphere in their streets and houses and play their individual against this chronic disease of dengue.
