LGH Gets another 3-Tesla MRI Machine

A latest MRI machine was made operational at the Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences of the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on Tuesday. “General Hospital is now the first public healthcare facility having two MRI machines,” said Postgraduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Dr Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif approved a grant of Rs260m for procurement of latest 3-Tesla machine that provides superior imaging capabilities in less time than a standard MRI unit, he said. “Patients with complicated neuro problems from all over Punjab and other parts of the country are referred to the LGH and the administration always tries to provide them with maximum best medical services available here as per directions of the Punjab government,” said Prof Tayyab. LGH Medical Superintendent Dr Ghulam Sabir said initially, the new machine would conduct MRI tests of patients during morning shift of 8am to 2pm only.
