Women Development Department Arranged Women Expo

Provincial Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheeduddin has said that practical steps have been adopted to ensure equal participation of women in the process of national development and added that policies of the Punjab government have helped to empower the women along with opening the doors of quality education to the low-income families. She was addressing the inaugural ceremony of 3-days women expo arranged by Women Development Department in collaboration with Punjab Board of Investment & Trade and Investment Climate Reform Unit at Heritage Museum Mall Road Lahore, today. A number of women and girl students attended the function.
The Minister said that economic development cannot be ensured without vibrant economy and added that economic empowerment of the womenfolk has been included in the women development package so as to ensure their equal participation in the national development. She said that women have to face different challenges in the practical life and told that different steps have been adopted including provision of free educational and healthcare facilities so that women and the girls may not lag behind. Due to that, conducive atmosphere has been provided to the women to show their potentials in different fields, she added. The Minister termed the holding of women expo as an important step towards women empowerment and said that it will provide a good platform to the business women to showcase their products. She inspected 34 stalls set up by different institutions and appreciated the quality of products.
The function was also addressed by Maliha Bangash, Falahat Imran, Saman Rai and others.
