Capacity Building Training of District Education Officers

Minister for Literacy and Non Formal Basic Education Punjab Dr. Farrukh Javed has said that we are striving to make Punjab 100 percent literate province by year 2030. The Minister was addressing the closing ceremony of 5 days Capacity Building Training of District Education Officers (Literacy) arranged by Literacy & Non Formal Basic Education Department here today. Secretary Literacy Dr. Ismat Tahira, representatives from Government and Private sector related to Education and District Education Officers (Literacy) from all over Punjab were present at the occasion. The objective of this training was to enhance the capacity and efficiency of District Education Officers (Literacy) with special reference to Office Management, Financial Management, Project Management, Procurement, Management Information Systems and Field Operational issues. The Provincial Minister for Literacy and NFBE Department Dr. Farrukh Javed in his address said that enhancing literacy rate of the province is utmost priority of the government and to achieve this target our department is striving on many fronts. The Minister emphasized that the training of District Education Officers (Literacy) is essential to enhance the working abilities of officers and strengthen the field offices. He expressed satisfaction on successful completion of training by Secretary Literacy and her team. Dr. Farrukh Javed further added that such training should be held in future as well to keep the officers updated with latest advancements in this field. Later, the Minister for Literacy & Non Formal Basic Education Punjab distributed certificates on completion of training to District Education Officers of all 36 districts of Punjab. Towards the end of ceremony, Dr. Ismat Tahira, Secretary Literacy & NFBED presented shield to the Chief Guest and assured that the department will continue such ventures to enhance the capacity of literacy officers throughout Punjab. The five days capacity building training continued from 23rd October 2017 to 27th October 2017 in Quaid e Azam Academy for Educational Development, formally known as DSD.
