PFA Seals Two Food Points

Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has sealed two food points for providing unhygienic food and discarded 1300 liters of adulterated milk in metropolis here on Thursday. While seized more than a thousand kg substandard food items by imposing fine of Rs 7000 to two hotels. According to details, PFA teams sealed two hotels during operation held under supervision of Food Safety Officers (FSOs) in respective area jurisdiction. In addition, 1000 kg fake ketchup, 100 kg liquid starch, 100 kg gum, 30 kg coloured slanty and two packs of spices were discarded on the spot. PFA Spokesman said that PFA teams are simultaneously active against adulterators and unhygienic food providers. In this connection, PFA teams have discarded chemical and water mixed milk and sealed hotels for serving unhealthy food to people. Further, teams have served warning notices to 41 confectionaries, hotels, restaurants, production units and chicken sale centers for not conforming to PFA instructions across the city.
