Special Briefing for Maps about Educational Reforms

Schools Education Department held a special briefing for the Members of Punjab Assembly belonging to Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala and Lahore Divisions regarding different educational reforms at 90 Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, here today. Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Malik Nadeem Kamran, Special Advisor to CM Rana Muhammad Arshad and Chief Secretary Capt. (R) Zahid Saeed were also present on the occasion. Secretary Schools Education Dr. Allah Bakhsh Malik gave a detailed briefing to the participants regarding ongoing programs of schools education sector. He said that school education is being transformed according to the international standards. He said that 500 teachers have been given prizes in appreciation of their meritorious services in the field of education by the Punjab government recently. He said that traditional respect of teachers is also being fully promoted in the society as the teachers play a key role in promotion of education. He said that as many as five thousand teachers from across the Punjab will be sent to the world renowned educational institutions for their capacity building. He said that Punjab Tianjan Technical University is being established and technical education has been introduced in 1109 public schools situated in different districts so that skilled human resource could be made available to the industrial sector. He said that a hotline will be introduced next month in the public sector schools to facilitate the parents so that they could remain abreast of the educational progress of their children. Meanwhile, the British Council has selected public sector schools in the Punjab for its international award which is a proof of international trust over the educational reforms of the Punjab government. He said that a special program has been launched to educate the children of brick kiln workers along with the start of Zewar-e-Taleem Program in 16 selected districts to educate the girls there. The government is continuously working to provide all the missing facilities in the schools and added that conducive atmosphere has been arranged in government educational institutions. The government has established 5000 classrooms under the early childhood educational program and 5000 more classrooms will also be established in the ongoing financial year. Our aim is to provide best education to every child so that our future generation could play its role in national development, concluded the Secretary Schools. On the occasion, MPAs presented different proposals for educational promotion at the grassroots.
