Secretary Labour Amir Jan and Commissioner Punjab Employees Social Security Institution Tanveer Iqbal called on Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resource Ansar Majeed Khan in his office, today. The Secretary Labour briefed the Minister about the performance and the new project of the department. He also apprised the Minister about the mechanism for providing medical facilities to the workers after retirement. The Labour Minister lauded the performance of the Secretary, DG and Commissioner. Anser Majeed Khan said that steps are being taken in the PTI government for the welfare of the workers. According to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, new projects have been launched for the workers in Punjab. He said that the Social Security Department has chalked out a plan to provide health facilities to the workers even after their retirement which will be implemented soon. He further directed Secretary Labor to strictly enforce the disbursement of minimum wage law. The Labor Minister also directed the department to take immediate steps to protect the health of the kiln workers. He further directed to ensure the availability of clean drinking water for workers in factories and kilns.
