Agha Khan Experts to Train ICU Staff in Punjab

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Agha Khan Medical University Karachi at the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department to enhance capacity of ICU staff in Punjab hospitals here on Thursday. Present on the occasion were Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Barrister Nabeel Awan, Professor Dr. Mehmud Shaukat, CEO Mayo Hospital Professor Dr. Saqib Saeed whereas representatives from Agha Khan University Dr. Sohaib, Kashif Amin and Wasim Yousuf were present in the signing ceremony. Secretary Specialized healthcare and Medical Education Department Barrister Nabeel Awan and officials of the Agha Khan University signed the agreement.  As per the agreement, experts from Agha Khamn Medical University shall impart training to staff of Punjab hospitals serving in ICUs. CEO Mayo Hospital Dr. Saqib Saeed shall personally supervise the training sessions of nurses. The Health Minister said, “Due to training sessions, patients shall get quality treatment. The training sessions for doctors shall begin in next round. Improved facilities shall be ensured with these professional trainings.” The representatives of Agha Khan University appreciated the services of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid and added that it was a proud moment for them to contribute to improvement in healthcare services delivery in Punjab.
