Let Us Renew Pledge to Serve Humanity on Independence Day: Minister Health

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid raised Pakistan flag in the Independence Day ceremony at Fatima Jinnah Medical University here on Saturday. Present on the occasion were Vice Chancellor Professor Amir Zaman Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shirin Khawar, Medical Superintendent Ganga Rama Dr. Ehtashamul Haq, Dr. Kamran, Professor Javed Chaudhry, faculty members, nurses, staff members and students. National anthem was played followed by Pakistan Day cake cutting ceremony. The university resonated with slogans of Pakistan Zinda Baad. The Health Minister, Vice Chancellor, faculty members, nurses and students wore Pakistan colours. The Health Minister met parents of students after flag raising ceremony. Vice Chancellor Professor Amir Zaman Khan thanked the Health Minister and shared the achievements of the university. The Health Minister appreciated the staff for providing top quality services to nurses and students. The Health Minister said, “Pakistan came into being after sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of lives. Pakistan is the realization of fruits of efforts of the Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. This is a day to salute young, old and the women who lost their lives fighting for the country. Independence is a great bless of the Almighty. We must remember them who lost everything for the country. Today, we must renew pledge to build a new Pakistan as per vision of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan we are endeavoring to change the health landscape of Pakistan. Revolutionary steps are being taken to realize Jinnah and Iqbal’s dream of a welfare state. Pakistan is the reason of our recognition and respect in the world. We must work hard to truly commemorate our independence.” Addressing the medical students, Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that history of martyrs and ink of teachers pen define history. She said relation of students and teachers exist for a life time. She added that best quality academic environment is being provided at the Fatima Jinnah Medical University and the students are making the country proud following the footsteps of mother of the nation Ms. Fatima Jinnah. Doctors are often remembered as Messiahs and they must serve humanity with passion and commitment. Half the treatment is only through good discussion with patients. We must adopt the philosophy of save a life, save humanity.
