Health Minister Reviews Launching Arrangements for Sehat Card

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Advisor to Chief Minister on Information Hasaan Khawar reviewed arrangements for launching ceremony for Naya Pakistan Sehat Card at the Specialized Healthcare Department here on Saturday. Present in the meeting were Secretary SH&ME Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi, Secretary Information Raja Jehangir Anwar, Director DGPR Rubina Afzal, Special Secretary Dr. Asif Tufail, CEO Punjab Health Initiatives Management Company and officials of the PID. The meeting reviewed preparations for the launching ceremony. The Health Minister said, "A proper strategy is being devised for launching ceremony. This is flagship program of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Thousands of beds are being added in hundreds of public and private sector hospitals for card holders. Proper communication strategy has been devised for the program and its launching. The Sehat card will be a game changer and from 1st January 2022 all 31.1 million families of Punjab shall get Sehat cards. This is the largest health initiative in country history. Prime Minister Imran Khan is going to provide best quality services to people.  Prime Minister Imran Khan shall start card distribution from Lahore and Rawalpindi. A  large number of hospitals are being empanelled. Residents of Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan are already utilzing the card services." Advisor to Chief Minister on Information Hasaan Khawar said that the Sehat card  program is a true reflection of Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision and a mega project in health. Card holders will be able to avail health insurance of upto Rs. 1 million. Strategy and event plan has been developed and an awareness campaign has been developed. He said Chief Minister Usman Buzdar must be acknowledged for the program. Secretary SH&ME Ahmed Javed Qazi said card holders shall be able to avail indoor medical facilities. He said emergency cardiac, diabetes, liver, kidney, gynae and neuro services shall be available. Secretary Information Raja Jehangir Anwar said an aggressive media campaign will be run on all media. He said all available communication approaches and tools will be used through DGPR.
