“Ease and convenience will be created by providing hearing aid to hearing-impaired people,” said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif while starting a project, Life Easy Program for Special Persons, for the provision of auxiliary equipment to ensure their ease and accessibility. She added, “By getting a wheelchair, special people will no longer need the help of others for mobility.” Under the Program, special persons will be able to apply for wheelchair and hearing aid. The receipt of applications for the purpose has started. Special persons can apply online at the portal of Social Welfare Department (awc.punjab.gov.pk) from the ease of their homes.
Madam Chief Minister said,” Rehabilitation of special persons is among the top priorities of Punjab government.” She added,” I want special people to live an easy life like normal people.” She underscored,” Seeing special people happy is a pleasant experience of life.”
Earlier, a few weeks ago, Madam Chief Minister had announced the project to provide assistive devices to the persons with disability in order to make their lives easier.
