The 12th Daily Meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Ramazan Package implementation was held at Civil Secretariat Lahore to monitor the supply, availability, distribution arrangements and redressal of complaints by the consumers, if any. Provincial ministers Bilal Yasin, Ch, Muhammad Shafiq, Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja, Chairman CMIT Irfan Ali, Secretary Food Dr. Pervaiz Ahmad Khan, Secretary I & C Farasat Iqbal, Secretary Information and Culture Raja Jahangir Anwar, Special Secretary CMIT Fazal Abbas, Additional Secretaries of Industries, Livestock and Dairy Development attended the meeting, besides, DCO Lahore Capt. R. Usman Yousaf who presented the stock taking position in Ramazan Bazaars.
Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin termed the Ramazan Bazaars installed at 318 places in different cities all over the Punjab a “showcase” project which has proved a success story. He emphasized that the common lot should benefit from the subsidy upto the tune of Rs. 5 billion provided by the Punjab Government on various daily use commodities under Ramazan Package and no consumer should be denied to get this facility in any case otherwise, the relevant district administration, shopkeepers and the commission agents will definitely face the music.
Industries Minister Ch. Muhammad Shafiq stressed upon the need to harmonize Ramazan Bazaars and the open market also according to the modern needs.
Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Shamail Ahmad Khwaja, on this occasion, directed the special price control magistrates to improve ‘Queue Management’ for honorable distribution of Sugar and Atta to the consumers on subsidized rate without any undue mismanagement and uncalled for delay. He took notice of some complaints of this nature from Samundari and Gujrat and ordered immediate redressal. The Addl. Chief Secretary deputed Secretary I & C Farasat Iqbal to take stringent action against the local administration if any complaint regarding mismanagement at Ramazan Bazaar is received to the PITB Cell established at Civil Secretariat Lahore. Secretary Information and Culture Punjab Raja Jahangir Anwar apprised the meeting of the measures taken by the Directorate General Public Relations Punjab to keep the common man aware of the governmental measures successfully taken to provide relief to the people which was appreciated by the participants of the Cabinet Committee.
