Khalil Tahir Sandhu Distributes Scholarships Among Minorities’ Students

Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs & Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said that educational scholarships of two crores rupees are being distributed among minorities’ students during the current year.

He said this while addressing the ceremony of distribution of scholarships among minorities’ students at Rawalpindi/Islamabad. He said that minorities are playing an important role for the development of the country. He said that Christian Community has rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the creation of Pakistan. He said that Punjab government has taken various measures for the welfare of minorities in the province especially 5 percent quota in recruitments, setting up of minorities’ consultative council, redressal of complaints regarding registration in marriage act and other problems. The Provincial Minister stressed upon the students to utilize all their energies for getting education. He said that government has introduced educational scholarship for minorities’ students. He said that it is the age of information technology, therefore, students should also acquire IT education to play their role for the progress of the country.
