Modern Rehabilitation Center For Disabled Children Will Be Set Up In Lahore

Provincial Minister for Special Education Asif Saeed Manhais has said that modern rehabilitation center for disabled children will be set up in Lahore at 22 kanal land. He said that modern equipments and specialist doctors will be appointed in this center for treatment of these children.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of Board of Directors of Punjab Funds for Rehabilitation of Special Persons at Special Education Directorate, today. Secretary Special Education Ambreen Raza, Justice (R) Aamir Mirza, Dr. Amjad Saqib, Director PFRSP Mrs. Samrina Nawaz, CEO Punjab Social Protection Authority Dr. Sohail Anwar, Deputy Secretary S&GAD Ayesha Ahmed, M Ikram-ul-Haq Alvi Chief Consultant P&D, Syeda Malika Deputy Secretary Finance and other officers were present on the occasion.

Asif Saeed Manhais said that Punjab government is paying special attention to the education, training and rehabilitation of disabled persons so that after getting education and training they could become an active member of the society. He said that on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, a modern rehabilitation center will be established at 22 kanal with the cooperation of international NGO, in which modern treatment facilities, specialist doctors and trained staff will be available to the disabled persons under one roof.

The Provincial Minister told that at present about 20 lakh people are suffering from any disability who can be made a useful member of the society through treatment and therapy at rehabilitation centers. He said that setting up of this modern rehabilitation center is part of it.
