CS Inaugurates Site Office Of Kidney And Liver Institute

Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal on Saturday inaugurated Site Office of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI). Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Secretary said that Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Centre would be first institute of its kind regarding provision of healthcare facilities and medical research. Best medical treatment would be provided to kidney and liver patients at this state-of-the-art institute under one roof, he added.

The Chief Secretary mentioned that the Punjab Government would extend full support for timely completion of this project. He said that improvement of health sector and provision of best healthcare is among top priorities of the government. He said that the Punjab government is striving hard for ameliorating the lot of people and public service delivery and special steps are being taken for development of health, education, energy and transport sector. The Chief Secretary also visited different sections of the Site Office.   

Advisor on Health Khwaja Salman Rafique said that all available resources are being utilised for improvement in health and education sector and first time in the history of the province massive budget has been allocated for the health sector. PKLI Chairman Prof Dr Saeed Akhtar said that designing work of the institute has been completed with the help of designers from Singapor. He added that medical consultant from North America and UK  are being contacted for hiring their services for the institute.

Secretary Health Najam Ahmad Shah said that the first phase of the institute having 200 beds facility would be completed by August 2017.Members of PKLI Board of Governors and officers concerned were present on the occasion.
