Khalil Tahir Sandhu Addresses A Function Of Making Youth Skillful

Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs & Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said that Pakistan is rich in natural resources but we will have to discharge our individual and collective responsibility to work for the development of the country.

He said this while addressing an awareness session in connection with making youth skillful held under the aegis of Awaz Foundation at Royal Palm, here today. MPA Raheela Khadim Hussain, Tariq Massih Gill, founder Awaz Foundation Zia ur Rehman, Deputy General Manager TEVTA Uzma Nadia, Amjad Saqib of Akhuwat, Dr. Nasira Jabbin, Shah Nawaz of TEVTA and others addressed the seminar. They were of the view that uneducated youth belong to far-flung areas. They also threw light on skill programme, provision of interest free loans and providing guidance to them.

Khalil Tahir Sandhu said that Punjab government is implementing a number of projects for making youth skillful and economically self-reliant under self-employment scheme. He said that Punjab government has started various programmes with the cooperation of TEVTA and NGOs for benefitting abilities of youth of less developed areas and providing them various skills. He said that practical training is also being provided to urban as well as rural children in nine institutions. He said that the targets of practical training are also being included in the educational syllabus. The Provincial Minister said that the education is essential for national development. He said that we will have to march forward by determining our role in the society in view of the rapid change. He said it is vision of the government that every person will have to be made educated and skillful for practical participation in national development and decision making. He said that Punjab province has become role model for other provinces due to important steps taken in various sectors. Later, Khalil Tahir Sandhu visited stalls of youth who got training of various skills and encouraged them.
