Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin today paid surprise visit to Sunday bazaars at Shadman, Wahdat Colony and Gulshan-e-Ravi. He checked the quality and prices of eatable items and inquired about the standard from the consumers. He also checked security and parking arrangements in Sunday bazaars.
Talking to the journalists, Bilal Yasin said that a remarkable success has been achieved in the abundant supply of quality essential items in Sunday bazaars through effective arrangements and there is a visible difference in the rates in open market and Sunday bazaars. He said rush of consumers in Sunday bazaars reflects that fresh and quality daily use items are available in these bazaars due to the measures taken by the government. He said that the steps taken by the government have discouraged hoarders and credit for this goes to Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The Minister also checked the camps set up for elderly citizens and women consumers for relaxing. He directed TMO to also ensure availability of clean drinking water for the consumers. He appreciated the security arrangements taken by the police and the checking system by volunteers and said that protection of life and property of the people is responsibility of the government and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard. He also appreciated the parking arrangements. The Minister inquired from the people about availability of potato, onion and tomatoes in Sunday bazaars who informed that these items are easily available.
Later, the Minister visited Sunday bazaars in Wahdat colony and Gulshan-e-Ravi where essential items were available in abundance. The Minister directed district administration and market committee to ensure smooth supply of food items including potato, onion and tomatoes.
