Shehbaz Sharif Reviews Arrangements For Holding 2-Day International Seminar Onbusiness Opportunities In The Province

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting, here today, which reviewed the arrangements for holding of an international seminar on business opportunities in the province. The 2-day seminar will be held in the beginning of November in Lahore in which foreign investment companies and officials will participate. Investors from Pakistan will also attend the seminar.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Punjab has become a hub of investment due to excellent policies and conducive atmosphere. He said that Punjab government will ensure a favourable atmosphere for investment while solid strategy has been adopted for increasing investment opportunities in the province. He said that problems like poverty and unemployment can be overcome through the promotion of economic and trade activities. Shehbaz Sharif said that the holding of international seminar will help in motivating foreign investors to make investment in different sectors in the province. He said that this seminar will go a long way in the promotion of foreign investment in Punjab. He further said that interest taken by foreign investors in international seminar reflects their confidence in the economic policies of the government. He said that due to development programmes of Punjab government, business activities have accelerated, however, there is room for further progress. The Chief Minister directed that best arrangements in every respect should be made with regard to seminar. Secretary Communication & Works and Commissioner Lahore Division gave briefings on the arrangements for the seminar. Provincial Minister for Finance Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, concerned secretaries, Commissioner Lahore Division, Chairman Punjab Investment Board, Director General Walled City of Lahore Authority and senior officials attended the meeting.
