Foolproof Security For Processions & Majalis During Muharram-ul-Haram

Provincial Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that complete foolproof security will be provided to mourning processions and Majalis during Muharram-ul-Haram. He said that necessary funds are being released immediately regarding maintenance of law and order and security. He said that the plan evolved regarding security to maintain the environment of law and order should be ensured during Muharram-ul-Haram. He said that there will be complete ban on delivering speeches by the Ulema and Zakireen in other provinces during Muharram-ul-Haram and in case of violation, action will be taken against the management of Majalis.

He stated this while presiding over a review meeting regarding security arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram in Rawalpindi division through video link at Commissioner Office. Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed, RPO Fakhar Sultan Raja, CPO Israr Ahmed Abbasi, MNA Malik Ibrar Ahmed, PML-N leader Sirdar Naseem Ali Khan, Dr. Jamal Nasir, MPAs Raja Hanif Advocate, Ch. Sarfraz Afzal, Lubna Rehan, Tehseen Fawad, Minister of State on Parliamentary Affairs from Attock Sheikh Aftab, MNA Maj. Tahir Iqbal from Chakwal, DCOs, DPOs and concerned officers were present on the occasion.

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that mourning processions will not be allowed to move on other routes except their fixed routes. There will be ban on holding Majalis on other places except those fixed for this purpose. He said that two entry points should be made for entry into processions and Majalis and every person should be allowed to enter the procession and Majalis after body search. He said that all the processions and Majalis should be covered through CCTV cameras and the places where CCTV cameras are not available, their coverage should be ensured through video cameras. He said that there will be ban on passage of processions before the mosques at the time of prayers and after prayers, the Namazis will be prohibited to gather in the mosques. He said that administration should ensure implementation in this regard. He said that arrangements should be made for installation of CCTV cameras, walk through gates, metal detectors as well as lights at routes of processions at night. He said that control rooms should be set up in all the districts and there should be complete coordination and contact in order to avoid any difficulty in any situation.
