Provincial Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Malik Tanvir Aslam Awan has said that best facilities of potable water will be made available in every house of Punjab till 2018 and sewerage facility will be provided till 2025.
He expressed these views while addressing World Water Week seminar at Stockholm Sweden. He said that Punjab is a big province with regard to population and its population has reached near ten crore while the population of Pakistan has exceeded 19 crore. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has launched different projects for the provision of facilities of potable water and sewerage in every house and 64 percent work has been completed. He said that best facilities of potable water will be available to every citizen of Punjab till 2018. He said that out of five thousand villages of the province, best sewerage system has been provided to 3360 villages. He further said that provision of potable water is among priorities of Punjab government and its target will be achieved by 2018. Member National Parliament Ashiq Hussain Shah and Secretary Environment Ministry Arif Ahmed also spoke on the occasion. It may be mentioned that a delegation comprising ten senior government officers of Punjab headed by Provincial Housing Minister Malik Tanvir Aslam Awan is in Sweden to participate World Water Week seminar.
