Provision Of Adulteration-Free Food Items Is Top Priority Of Government : Bilal Yasin

Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin has said that provision of adulteration-free food items to the people is the top priority of the government and a vigorous campaign is continuing throughout the province in this regard. He said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, no leniency will be shown to the elements playing with human lives.

He was addressing a special meeting with the officers of three districts at Commissioner office Sahiwal in which ongoing campaign against adulteration was reviewed in detail. Secretary Food Pervaiz Ahmed Khan, Commissioner Sahiwal Azmat Mehmood, Director General Punjab Food Authority Dr. Sajid Mehmood Chauhan and Member Assembly Ch. Iftikhar Hussain were present. The Minister directed that the campaign against selling of adulterated milk and meat of dead animals should be continued as it is giving positive results. He said that administration officers should check bakeries, hotels and shops selling adulterated and substandard essential items and got register cases against the persons involved in the crime without any discrimination. He said that provision of quality commodities to the people is a noble cause which should be performed by considering it a religious and national obligation. 

Earlier, Secretary Food Pervaiz Ahmed Khan and DG Punjab Food Authority Dr. Sajid Mehmood Chohan gave a detailed briefing regarding amendments made in food ordinance and performance of Punjab Food Authority. Commissioner Azmat Mehmood assured that the crackdown in Sahiwal division will be continued and checking of hotels, bakeries involved in selling of adulterated food items and provision of substandard meat will be continued.
