Punjab Workers Welfare Board Is Focused On Benefiting Laborers

Provincial Minister for Labour & Human Resources Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that Punjab government is providing all basic facilities including schools, community centers and mosques in workers welfare colonies constructed throughout the province under Punjab Workers Welfare Board for industrial workers and labourers. He said that workers welfare complex comprising 208 flats will be completed till December this year at a cost of one billion rupees at Warburton district Nankana.

He stated this during briefing regarding ongoing development project of Workers Welfare Complex at Warburton today. Director Works Muhammad Mazhar informed the Minister about the details of the project and said that best quality material has been used in the construction of the complex and this colony will be a state-of-the-art with regard to provision of facilities. Members Provincial Assembly Sirdar Ramesh Singh Arora, Saira Iftikhar, Additional Secretary Labour and other senior officers of labour department attended the briefing. The Minister directed concerned authorities to provide science laboratory, computer lab, library, potable water to the children of labourers at Boys High School and Girls High School separately in welfare complex and ensure construction of community center, mosque and medical center. He directed the concerned officers to complete welfare schemes for labourers within stipulated period. He said that provision of residential facilities to labourers is top priority of Punjab government and directed that all resources should be utilized for the welfare of labourers and provision of social security facility to them.
