Provision Of Adulteration Free Eatable Items Is Top Priority Of CM Punjab

The Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin has said that Punjab government has set up Punjab Food Authority for ensuring provision of adulteration free and Halal essential items to the people of the province. He said that provision of adulteration free eatable items is top priority of Chief Minister Punjab. He said that on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, honest, hardworking and patriotic persons are being included in divisional task forces and the committees for eradication of adulteration who will be imbued with the spirit of serving to humanity and country and the nation instead of Safarish and nepotism. Bilal Yasin said that amendments are being made in the existing laws for awarding deterrent punishment to those involved in preparation and  sale of adulterated and Haram items and its punishment will be life imprisonment and heavy fine. He said that such crimes are being declared non-bailable. He said that task forces have vast powers under new laws.

He was addressing the meeting of divisional task force at commissioner office Sarghodha, today. Secretary Food Pervaiz Ahmed Khan, Chairman Divisional task force MPA Abdul Razzaq Dhilun, Commissioner Sarghodha Division Dr. Retd Muhammad Asif, other members of task force Muhammad Afzal Khan Dhandhala MNA, Dr. Nadia Aziz MPA, Mehar Ghulam Dastaghir Lak, Sardar Bahadar Abbas Maikan, Malik Karam Elahi Bandial, DCO Sarghodha Saqib Manan and other concern officers attended the meeting. He said that incidents of adulteration in eatable items and sale of meat of Haram animals are common in our society which is a matter of    concern for us. He said that it is high time to deal with such situation seriously, for which, Chief Minister Punjab has given the task of setting up task forces at division and district level for this purpose.
