Cabinet Committee On Flood Visits Camps In Kot Mithan

On special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Members Cabinet Committee on Flood including Minister for Counter Terrorism Department Punjab Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada, Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin, Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal and Chief Flood Commissioner and Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf visited tent villages at Kot Mithan and relief cut (breach) at Fakhar Flood Bund. The members informed that provision of relief to flood affectees is top priority of Punjab government and they will not rest content till complete rehabilitation of all flood-hit people and no negligence and laxity will be tolerated in this regard. They visited tent villages set up by district administration at Kot Mithan Aurong Road and checked the facilities being provided to the affectees. They expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided by the administration and steps taken in this regard.

Talking to the affectees in tent villages, they assured that all affectees will be fully assisted after receding of water in flood-hit areas and no flood affectee will be left alone in this hour of distress. They inquired from flood affectees about the facilities being provided to them. All the affectees thanked district administration on provision of facilities and the practical efforts being made by Punjab government. Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal directed health department to conduct spray in the morning and evening in flood affected areas and provide mosquito nets to the affectees and no negligence should be shown in this regard. He also directed to provide wanda and green fodder in substantial quantity for the cattle of affectees. All members also inspected relief cut at Fakhar Band and appreciated the administration for its efforts and steps made for saving Kot Mithan city and surrounding areas against flood.

They thanked Member Provincial Assembly Atif Khan Mazari and said that the sincere efforts and measures being taken by public representatives in this hour of distress are appreciable. They expressed astonishment and pleasure over protective bund made overnight by the administration and members national and provincial assembly and said that there is no example of such devotion and responsibility. Minister for Counter Terrorism and Food Minister while talking to flood affectees said that they will come here again and again and shift them safely to their houses. They lauded the spirit and courage of the people in this hour of difficulty. They said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is worried about them and inquires daily a number of times about the facilities and issues instructions to provide maximum relief to them. Commissioner DG Khan Division Saqib Aziz gave a briefing to the members cabinet committee about flood situation and the steps taken by the administration.
