Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs & Human Rights, Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said that people of all the religions have equal rights and are playing their positive role in progress and development of the country without any discrimination.
He was addressing a ceremony held in connection with World Minorities Day at Alhamra here today. Members Provincial Assembly belonging to minorities of Punjab and a large number of people from all schools of thought were present on this occasion. MPAs Tariq Gill, Kanji Ram, Principal Knarred College Rukhsana David, Secretary Minority Wing Javed Yousaf, Principal Green School Nazia besides others attended and addressed the seminar.
Khalil Tahir Sandhu said that people from all schools of thought had played their role in the creation of Pakistan and history is witness to the fact that we are striving hard for the development and progress of the country like patriotic citizens. He said Pakistan is our country and we love it very much. He said that our forefathers did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives for Pakistan.
Khalil Tahir Sandhu mentioned in detail the projects of Punjab government for the welfare of minorities. He said that World Minorities Day gives a message that we should devote our abilities for the country. He said that we should keep a vigilant eye on anti-state elements and as Pakistani, play our role in an efficient manner. He said we should pledge that would work hard to make Pakistan a haven of peace.
