Chief Relief Commissioner Punjab Reviews Relief Activities In Flood Hit Areas

Chief Relief Commissioner Punjab Nadeem Ashraf presided over a meeting regarding relief activities for flood affectees. He said that flow of water in rivers of the province is decreasing gradually. He said that due to best strategy of PDMA, immediate evacuation process was carried out to save precious lives in flood-hit areas and three time cooked meal and other necessary items are being provided to the affectees in relief camps. He said that cooked meal and other essential items are also being provided by the administration to the people residing in the houses in flood affected areas. He said that all arrangements have been completed to observe celebrations of August 14 in a befitting manner in all relief camps. He said that these celebrations will be started from August 11 in the relief camps. He said that 37600 tents, 147750 food hampers, 82000 mineral water bottles, 25050 mosquito nets and 17550 plastic mats have been distributed among flood affectees. He said that 159940 persons have been rescued through 279 boats so far. He said that 19282 persons are residing in 250 camps. He said that a detailed survey of the losses caused to crops and houses in flood affected areas will be started immediately after receding the water.
