Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that there is a need for following Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s guiding principles of continuous struggle, honesty and hard work for making Pakistan a welfare state and achieving a respectable status for the country in the comity of nations. He said that the goal of progress and prosperity of the country can be achieved by rising above sectarian, linguistic and religious prejudices and elimination of terrorism and extremism. He said that present government led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is determined to overcome all crises including terrorism and effective measures are being taken for this purpose.
In his message on the 138th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the Chief Minister said that an independent country was achieved by the Muslims of the subcontinent as a result of historic struggle under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said that Quaid-e-Azam was a bold, straightforward and committed leader who could not be deterred from his cause. He said that though an independent country was achieved under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam but it is unfortunate that the nation is still far from its goal despite lapse of 68 years. He said that all crisis being faced by the country can be overcome by following the principles of a great personality like Quaid-e-Azam. Shehbaz Sharif said that Quaid-e-Azam gave a separate and unique country to the Muslims of the subcontinent so that they could lead their lives in peace but unfortunately Pakistan is facing serious challenges like terrorism and extremism. He said that the country is facing the menace of terrorism in its worst form and more than 40 thousand Pakistanis including officers and jawans of Pak Army, police and their children as well as citizens have lost their lives in the war against terrorism. He said that time has come to rid the country of the menace of terrorism and the whole nation will have to defeat terrorists through promoting complete unity.
He said that Pak Army and security institutions are fighting against terrorists and will be successful in rooting out the scourge of terrorism from the country. The Chief Minister further said that there is a need to renew the pledge on the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam that his principles will be followed and all energies will be utilized for the progress and prosperity of the country as it is the only way to overcome crises and achieve the objectives for which the country was created. He said that every sacrifice will be made under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for putting the country on the road to progress and development. He said that corruption, poverty, unemployment, loadshedding and terrorism will be eradicated and Pakistan will be transformed in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam.
