Women Empowerment Package' 2014 to Benefit Common Women

Provincial Minister for Development Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din has said that he fruits of awareness campaign regarding protection of women rights should reach to common woman.She was addressing a meeting of special committee set up to review Women Empowerment Package 2014. Minister for Population Welfare Begum Zakia Shahnawaz presided over the meeting. Besides Provincial Secretary Iram Bokhari, representatives of Social Welfare, Labour, Law, Board of Revenue, TEVTA, Industries & Commerce, Schools Education, Local Government, Health and other departments attended the meeting.
                        
Iram Bokhari gave detailed briefing regarding Women Package 2014 and on its implementation. Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din informed in detail about helpline launched by Women Development Deparment, family laws, amendments in protection of working women Act 2012, Acid Bill, women contractors and staff at women educational institutions, help desk and helpline set up  by Social Welfare Department, training courses regarding women rights , new chapters regarding socio-economic of women in educational syllabus and other matters.
                        
Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din and Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that the role of women in national development cannot be ignored. They said that we have to bring changes in social attitudes for accepting women rights and their protection. They said that such new chapters in educational syllabus should be introduced as should contain teachings of respect to women in the light of religious ordains. They directed that consultation should be completed at the earliest so that it should be formally started from the next academic year.The Provincial Ministers said that like public sector, women quota for jobs will also be allocated in private sector. They said that 33% representation of women has been made compulsory in any Board of Governors. Similarly, no trade union will be registered without women representation, they added.
